This is terrible logic. Absolutely horrible. Xango juice is a scam, and yes it passes through lies and word of mouth. Just because people believe it (like religion), doesn’t mean its true.

While I have not yet tried the product, it does intrigue me. I am looking for some good honest people who have tried this product and the results they have gotten. I am not a promoter of MLM schemes, but in reading many of the responses here, I agree with one fact: Our country runs on MLM, in it’s bare boned structure. Is it MLM or capitalism?

I believe I am smart enough to figure out whether or not a product claims are true or false. Curing things like cancer, probably not. Diabetic leveling, can be possible. I am not naieve enough to believe it can have a type of “Lazarus Effect”. However, our culture is just a pill-popping pharmaceutical nation. We’re ever so anxious and diligent to pop lab created drugs, because it’s a quick fix. Whose to say America doesn’t have a placebo effect regarding pharmaceuticals? I am speaking from experience when my mother who had colon and liver cancer with a (rapid growing)tumor on her spinal base. After a year and a half worth of chemo and radiation, the Mayo clinic told her to “go home and enjoy her family”. We discovered an alternative therapy hospital in Tijuana, MX (American Biologics) which did more for her in three weeks (to delay the progress and relieve pain) than Mayo could. The results may have ended the same way, but it did give her some relief and prolonged time with our family.

I am taking interest with Xango and the Mangosteen juice with my eyes open. All a person can do is try it and see for themselves. Don’t delve into the MLM if you do not believe in the product…or any product for that matter. This product sounds similar to a product that was out approximately seven years ago called “SeaSilver”. While, the company is now out of business, (and probably rightly so), I used the product. I had no hopes as to the claims they were making for “cure-all”, but it did give me energy, and an overall better feeling of wellbeing. Placebo effect? I don’t know, considering I take things at a negative until it proves me wrong.

All a person can do is tread lightly, and not dive in. It’s all dependent on the individual.

I met a man the other day that is involved with a similarly structured company selling a different product and he was legitimately wealthy. I see how they speak to people now that I have encountered multiple recruiters. They all are very vague and long winded and really aren’t saying much. Even after seeing proof of the money they’ve made I still don’t trust it. I prefer to have someone level with me rather than asking me a bunch of hypothetical questions.

As an EX- distributor — Xango juice (Mangosteen) DOES have a lot of anti-oxidants and it does seem to help people. It has a refreshing taste — sort of like like cranberry juice. BUT is it worth over $30 PER BOTTLE absolutely not!!!

In most cases you can receive the same benefits from $20 worth of fish oil (Omega 3) as from $100 “plus” worth of Xango juice each month.

Are you serious?

XanGo Juice has helped my psoriatic arthritis more than any prescription drug I’ve tried ever did. It has also softened and help clear up my psoriasis in several areas of my body, and I’ve only been using it for about three weeks. I’ve tried medications that cost $1,600 a month and did NOTHING for my psoriasis. Whose the same? I’d say the drug companies, not XanGo.

And I don’t know why mangosteen haters say there is no scientific evidence. There is tons of it. There isn’t a lot of AMERICAN scientific evidence, but the international evidence fills volumes. The Mayo Clinic is currently conducting mangosteen studies whose results will be publishing next year. There is no reason to believe they won’t confirm what foreign scientists have been learning about the mangosteen for centuries.

The FDA has been bought out by the drug companies. If ANYTHING comes along that could cut into their profits, the FDA bounces. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD THE FDA ATTACKED ***CHEERIOS CEREAL** A FEW MONTHS AGO! Cheerios! Wake up America! The drug and insurance companies are running the health industry circus and its time for them to shape up or get shut down!

For example, if you’re 20 maybe your friends may not be interested in buying the products but perhaps and small local nutrition shop or a local retiremant home may place some flyers and/or allow you to come in to speak with about the products which can give you tons of prospects. If you stay at home put little to no efforts into your business you can only receive what you invest.

My brother, a premed student, used the juice so he could get the extra energy to study at night one bottle lasted him a month and still gave him the energy he needed. Soon he was sharing it as a healthy alternative to caffine pills and the inquries begin coming in.

I work in the medical field and after research the on PubMeb a medical research site, I decided to give it a try. I was severly anemic extremely tired and always cold and pale. I stopped taking my iron supplment prior to starting the mangosteen product because I wanted to see if the claims were true.

Within days of using the mangosteen product with the pericarp in the juice I begin to get a high level of engery. I felt wonderful.

I began to encourage my husband to use the product. He is a true skeptic about every thing and was convince I was wasting my money but I asked him to taste it and give it a try for two weeks.

The mangosteen juice worked wonders in our love life. We both had soo much energy we increased our intimacy and begin to really enjoy each other again.

But the best part is when I went back to my doctor she informed me the anemia I had since 16 years was not there. I got a second opinion. The doctor said “I would really look at this as a blessing because you are not anemic any more.” Said also said off the record she recommend many of her patients to try nutrional supplements because she has found they do enhance the quailty of life and many are even more effective than medications.

It been 5 years now and still no iron pills.

I have heard too many success story from people who use the product daily to think it’s a fluke. As a matter of fact I only had one person say that they did not feel a difference after taking the juice.

I would not call the mangosteem product a scam by no means. But I would suggest to anyone going into any business to learn about marketing and sells before jumping in with both feet.

There is always people who want to eat the hole out of the donuts…that’s okay…

Another thing that I would like to add.. the FDA..isn’t all that objective… just recently they removed ALL the warnings about Amalgan fillings mercury danger for children and pregnant women… the dental consumers agency has had a law suit against the FDA already… also bare in mind that lots of prescription drugs have been approved by them…but then look at the “side” effects…. those aren’t side effects… it is just what they are EFFECTS of the drugs!!

Also do some research on “Codex Alimentarius”… you’ll get the picture

First…full disclosure. I am a XanGo distributor. I am a distributor because the products are fantastic and because I love the network marketing business model. I am 27 and I joined XanGo when I was 22. Immediately, I began seeing powerful changes in the health of people that I shared this product with. Additionally, my business began to grow and I was ‘out of the rat race’ by the ge of 23. Needless to say, XanGo has changed my life for the better.

I’ll put Mr. Patenaude’s arguments in quotes (sometimes paraphrasing for clarity) and I’ll respond below each quotation. Let’s dive into the arguments, shall we?

“Generally, the products [network marketing companies] sell are very high-priced.”

High priced compared to what? Mangosteen juice products that are sold in retail stores range between a few dollars less than XanGo to significantly more expensive than XanGo.

Besides, any economist will tell you that value is determined by the marketplace. If a product is over-priced then people will not buy it and/or a competitor will come in and undercut the cost. A product will only last in the marketplace if consumers continue to see the value in purchasing at its set price.

“According to Xango, there are more than 20 “human health benefits” to their mangosteen juice, from “anti-microbial” to “anti-cancer”.”

Actually, there is not a single written document out there put out by XanGo with these types of claims on them. XanGo’s sales tools can be found at X1tools dot com or XanGo dot com.

Accasionally, however, distributors get a little over-zealous and they began putting claims like this on their websites or their own marketing materials that they create. XanGo actively monitors for inappropraite activity like this so as not to get in trouble with regulators. The fact is that whether the claims are true or not, those types of claims are not allowed to be made by a supplement.

“Since they don’t have any serious research to back this claim up, Xango adds this disclaimer as a footnote: “These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease”.

I’ll address the issue of science later on. As for the FDA disclaimer, this disclaimer appears on nearly every health supplement out there. It is on your vitamins. It is on your energy drinks. It is even on your cereal and orange juice containers. This appears on nearly every food product that makes anything resembling a health claim in order to maintain FDA compliance.

It is just the way our laws are set up. It doesn’t matter if there is science behind the claims or not. Health supplements and foods are not allowed to make health claims without this disclaimer. Even if they are true.

“Xango is in the business for the bux.”

Duh! It’s a business. Businesses offer products or services to the marketplace in exchange for money. I’m sure Mr.Patenaude is trading value for dollars in some way as well.

“Generally the motivated network marketer will aggressively sell the products to his own friends, relatives and neighbors. (I remember when I was in this “dog food” company and I phoned the entire list of names from my high school year, in order to pitch them the dog food product!)”

Apparently, that is what Mr.Patenaude did in his network marketing business, however, successful network marketers don’t earn six and seven-figure income by harrassing old classmates. They do it the same way that you would build an insurance business, a real estate business or nearly any business: by putting together a team of key people with a similar goal and educating consumers about your product or service.

“With this system, the more distributors a person can recruit, the more money they can make.”

That’s nearly every sales organization in nearly an industry. Of course you make more money with a bigger sales team.

“When I look at a $35 bottle of “anti-oxidant-rich” mangosteen juice, I can’t help to laugh and think to myself, “what kind of idiot would spend that kind of money (plus shipping) for a bottle of fruit juice?”

If somebody that has had migraine headaches for 10 years uses a product and their migraines vanish, $35 is nothing for the incredible benefit the consumer has recieved. (FYI – XanGo is $25 per bottle)

“Some Anti-Oxidant Rich Foods: Cheap Alternatives”

Mr.Patenaude is missing a major point here: the mangosteen’s benefits go FAR beyond anti-oxidants. Yes, mangosteen is a powerful anti-oxidant, however, the anti-inflammatory benefits (among others) are far more significant and are also what make it such a unique fruit.

Finally, I am going to cover a few of the issues brought up regarding a “lack of evidence” backing up the mangosteen.

1. “There is no conclusive evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of mangosteen in treating cancer.”

This is a classic statement illustrating the divide that often exists between the scientific method and common sense. The medical community considers double-blind placebo controlled human studies to be the gold standard of research. Without this type of research behind it, a product like XanGo or mangosteen is often dismissed as having ‘no conclusive evidence of safety or efficacy.’

The scientific method requires that all variables are controlled; that results can be duplicated; that the mechanisms and processes all be fully understood before any conclusions can be made. While these rigid requirements are extremely valuable for moving science and technology forward (and protecting us from experimental technologies such as new drugs), they are not necessary requirements in most everyday decisions (like deciding what food you want to purchase at the grocery store).

Let’s say that you are walking through a jungle known to be highly populated with monkeys. Above you, you hear animals in the trees that are making monkey noises. Banana peels begin falling from the trees above presumably because the monkeys are eating the bananas. You can’t actually see the monkeys, and therefore, the scientific method would say that there is ‘no conclusive evidence’ that there are monkeys in the trees. Common sense would tell you that there are, in fact, monkeys in the trees and common sense will probably prove correct in this situation 99.9% of the time.

So, I concede that there are very few double-blind placebo controlled human studies to give ‘conclusive evidence of safety and efficacy’ to mangosteen or XanGo, however, let’s take a common sense approach to each issue and see what the evidence points to.

Safety:

…Mangosteen is not new. Mangosteen has been consumed by humans for centuries without any reports of toxicity or negative effects of any kind.

…XanGo has been tested for toxicity in FDA approved labs and has been determined ’safe’ in all areas. By the way, these tests are not required of food products. XanGo opted to have these tests done before shipping any product.

…XanGo has now been consumed by millions of people worldwide without a single incident to raise cause for concern. The truth is that even with double-blind placebo controlled studies you never have CONCLUSIVE evidence. Take the 100,000 people that are dying annually (one of the leading causes of death in our country) due to side effects from properly prescribed and properly consumed prescription drugs (all of which were determined safe by the FDA after double-blind placebo controlled human studies).

Efficacy:

…Knowledge of medicinal benefits of the mangosteen has been passed from generation to generation in nearly every culture where the fruit grows natively. If there was little observable connection between the use of the fruit and perceived benefits in the consumer of the fruit, it is unlikely that the story would continue to be passed.

…There are hundreds of thousands of research papers and studies that have been done on nutrients that are found in the mangosteen such as catechins, polysaccharides, proanthocyanadins, sterols and many more. These nutrients are found in other botanicals. Their medicinal benefits have been known for a long time and there is little controversy regarding the efficacy of these nutrients.

…There are now nearly 500 studies that appear on pubmed.gov when you search for ‘xanthone’ [1500 – xanthones]. While these are not double-blind placebo controlled human studies, they DO correlate closely with many of the results that we are observing in people that are consuming XanGo.

…The accelerated rate at which these studies have begun to appear over the years indicates that the scientific community is finding more and more merit in researching potential medicinal benefits of this fruit.

…There are 49 studies on pubmed.gov specifically dealing with xanthones and cancer. One in vitro study compared one of the xanthones in the mangosteen fruit to 6 of the top chemotherapy drugs on the market in respect to their ability to induce apoptosis (selfdestruction) in cancer cells. In the study, none of the chemotherapy drugs outperformed the xanthones. While this does not PROVE that mangosteen kills cancer in humans, it does carry interesting parallels to the thousands of people that have seen cancers shrink and even disappear following the consumption of XanGo.

…XanGo has sold $1.6 billion worth of XanGo Juice in 6 years through solely through word of mouth marketing. Is this possible with a product that people do not see results with?

… At $100-$200 per month per person, XanGo is NOT an inexpensive product. Yet our customer retention rate remains the highest in the industry even in a down economy. Again, is this possible if people are not seeing significant results? Of course not.

…Animals are seeing the same results that humans are reporting: decreased pain, relief from allergies, shrinking tumors, increased energy, etc. This eliminates the ‘placebo effect’ argument.

…Most importantly, you and I both have close friends/family that have seen major changes in their health and/or have gotten off of medications immediately after starting on XanGo. Ultimately, this is what matters. It works!

2. “Patients should consult their oncologists before using any supplements during cancer treatment.”

Absolutely they should! However, they should also take responsibility for their own health and realize that doctors are not omniscient. Many doctors will completely dismiss something because it is natural or because they haven’t heard of it.

Instead of asking their doctor about his thoughts on mangosteen (and blindly accepting his opinion), it might be worthwhile to pay attention to Dr. Amod Tootla’s thoughts on mangosteen.

Dr. Amod Tootla is recognized by Cambridge University as one of the top researchers in the 21st century. He was voted one of the top surgeons in the United States. He is a world renowned cancer surgeon and is also the first person to perform surgery over the internet. He has over 1500 patients on XanGo and has the unique opportunity to observe the results in a large sampling of patients first-hand. Wouldn’t it make sense to listen to Dr. Tootla’s opinion of mangosteen instead of some doctor that has never heard of it?

Wow! That turned into a long answer! I hope this clears up any concerns that might arise from this website.

I’m just finishing up physical therapy school and so I’d like to give my opinion on the xango product. I realize I’m not a MD or surgeon, but I have received education on the cardiopulmonary system, central nervous system, musculoskeletal system, as well as a class on pharmacology. This stuff is garbage.

Someone referenced that there are hundreds of research articles on pub med….you must be an ignorant salesmen. Part of citing research is to have actually read and synthesize the research. There has been no high-level research performed for this stuff on HUMAN BEINGS. No respected researcher in the world would be dumb enough to present a Xango research proposal to a grant board or present to the IRB (instituitional review board)for approval.

No randomized control trials, case-control series, or cohort studies has ever been performed to validate this stuff. The evidence on the efficacy of XANGO is ancecdotal at best. Show me a high number participant university RCT that proves effectiveness on cancer treatment, ability to fight infection, blood pressure, or cholesterol, then I’ll gladly eat my plate of crow.

Part of ACTUAL clinically based health-care is using evidence based practice. The problem is family members, high school classmates, and co-workers don’t know how to truly find peer-reviewed articles, nor would they know how to synthesize the information and decipher good research from poor research. Therefore, most people google Xango, read some bull-$hit patient testimonial that have fabricated patient pathologies in which the Xango drink magically cured.

Be critical and weary when buying this stuff….Do you really think this stuff will cure or prevent cancer?? Ask yourself: Why is there truly no cure for cancer? Why are cancer treatments still primarily, ectomy procedures, radiation and chemotherapy….Simple, they are the only treatments that have a sound evidence base. Xango is not a cure all.

It’s a fruit drink people, you are not poring the healing power of jesus down your throat.

I know “someone” who sells this unfortunately he is my boss and everytime i said anything it was “well you need xango for that” after EVERY sentence. you all know them people… i mean come on i needed chapstick one day and he said “xango is excellent for that!!” i am not that stupid…

well one day i was like “you know just sell me a box i wanna try this” because i am a VERY curious person i try everything and can afford to, but i also see the scam… next thing you know i’m a dealer and i’m signed up for monthly boxes to come to my home and thats taken directly out of my checking account!! i did not know anything that was going on… he said he “needs” it for their records…

i trusted him because he is my boss, i work for him and his wife… i had no clue of any of this and now i’m getting a box every month even though i only asked to “try” it…… i was PIS-SED! So.. i told him the box was sent to me… and he says “well actually i think it was charged to my credit card so you’ll have to pay me for that box” sooo… it was charged to my checking account and it was sent to MY house… if it was on your credit card it would be to YOUR house in your name. so he kept telling me to write him a check in his name to him for this amount… even though i already paid for it….

anyway the other day he made me and my fiance go to a meeting with him for xango… it was the biggest joke of my LIFE this multi billion dollar company couldn’t even supply a cookie or anything… haha i know that doesn’t matter but it did make me mad, out of a 2 1/2 hour meeting they talked about how good the product was only for about 15 minutes the rest was scheming and how to make money and they even had a comedian there… people in the audience stood up yelling “praise the lord!” and “god bless america!” and “Land of the free!” i swear to you this did happen my fiance and i kept looking at eachother LAUGHING like who ARE these people and what is this?! a cult. so anyway to make a story short it was a bunch of nonsense and fake stories and played out scenes of such pain and sorrow and how one bottle could fix it all. they even pointed to the audience and yelled “THIS IS YOUR FUTURE!” like woah. i was taken aback at how Fake this was and no one noticed but us.

so anywho i am taking this bottle religously and for the first week it gave me terrible diarreah and gas which i have terrible stomach problems already and now it seems to lightly be going away i think it cleaned me out.. um i lost my appetite a little bit (there is nothing different going on in my life either) i noticed today i wasn’t as bloated as i usually am! i went down a beltloop.

my acne is clearing up on my back and shoulders also my bloodpressure is down where it should be for a while there it was scary. i literally have not had a headache since i had terrible migrains before.. although after a night of drinking last week i did have one. so other than that nothing awesomely noticeable… 2 weeks later. $50 in the toilet. as well as a little bit of vomit from saturday night. We shall see how this goes… i will continue this voyage and see where my sails takes me! I have been scammed and lied to in this destination of being “magically healthy!!” and a tube of chapstick….. All in One!! oh yeah i was told its a muscle rub as well….. wish me luck.

Xango is awesome and your just a hater man. I could flame you all day. It takes no skill to flame a company and tell people to go with your own.

It takes real skill to believe in something and achieve success. Good luck with your failed life.

Do you have a job? Are you financially free?

If the answer is Yes to job and no to financially free then you need to stop and think for a minute. First off being financially free is possible and xango is just a vehicle that can help you get there. Second if you are in a job then the corporate latters apply thus your only making the business owner of the business you work for richer. If you don’t think this product works, then move on because others claim it does, both to make you money and as an elixir. You caim your job makes you money but that might not apply to everyone as everyone has they’re own cup of tea.

Bottom line, I haven’t tried it but I’m going to try it and I’ll post my results within a month as an un-biased individual looking to relieve pain and make money. I’ll be a live test subject and look forward to “wasting money” if that is whats going to happen. You never know until you try.
